Bugzee and the Bees is a heartwarming story about an African American family of beekeepers who are teaching its youngest member the importance of honeybees.
Bugzee does all kinds of jobs to help with the honeybees, but he is not allowed in the apiary because he is too little. “You’re not old enough,” his family always says. Bugzee's only wish is to get a beekeeping suit so he can get close to the hives and help his family even more.
Beekeeping and honeybees are not topics that everyone will enjoy... maybe because of the bad rap bees have. I get it... those stings hurt! But by reading this book you might become a little less fearful of this insect that helps provide 1/3 of the world’s food through pollination. And just below the surface you will see that this book is about how a family prepares to teach the newest member how to love and take care of the environment...one beehive at a time.
