My first computer was a Tandy 1000 that my parents bought at a Radio Shack. I needed a game and while at the store saw Kings Quest 1 and decided to give it a try. Since then, my favorite genre has always been the adventure game point and click genre and I blame Sierra for my addiction. From then on I bought every game Sierra released. But my all time favorite series has been Quest for Glory. The way they combined adventure game elements with RPG elements that allowed me to play the game the way I wanted with several solutions to the puzzles fascinated me. And my character carried over to the next game!!! In my opinion, the best game in the series was Shadows of Glory. The setting, story line, the Lovecraftian horror elements all combined to make it one the games I still replay to this day. And John Rhys-Davies as the Narrator? Icing on an already delicious cake! Another series that I really enjoyed more than apparently the rest of the world was the Manhunter series. I really enjoyed the scifi-horror story with a simplified interface. I always hoped we would get a third game in the series to see that Phil got his comeuppance in London. I actually still have most of my original discs from all my Sierra games, but am glad that more modern storefronts like Steam and GOG have released compilations of the games so younger players can go back and experience some of the best computer games ever designed.
