So we're only at 75% (11k) 2 days into our campaign. I know what you're thinking. We're almost there! But the reality is that the ideal budget that we want to make this project happen is quite a bit higher.

Unfortunately, with how momentum for these campaigns work, without a strong start it can be very difficult for campaigns to succeed. Our "success" metric for us is $45,000, as that is the cost of production for the book. When I came to Andreas with this project, part of my ask was that everyone be paid a living wage. Andreas has graciously agreed to that - but it creates a different sort of problem. Furthermore, our newsletters and ads are performing a bit worse than expected.

For crowdfunding campaigns the vast majority of funds raised are within the first and last 3 days of the campaign. This means that we need to be at 20k by tomorrow morning, or we will need to make the difficult decision to tough it out (and work with whatever final project and cut content), or to cancel the campaign and spend more time working to build a bigger audience and launch at a later time.
