Project Update: Amazing Survey Response So Far! Off to the Printer!
We are now at 73% fulfillment of the survey! THANK YOU!
A special thanks to our Dedication backers: thanks for being patient with our pleasant persistence. Your dedications were the missing piece, and you delivered! The range of humorous and touching words you contributed is amazing.
So the volume is now off to the printer! This means we are currently on target to get the Mid-Life Monster Manual in the mail this month. Be sure to complete the survey if you haven't already, and complete any add-ons or extra copies you'd like.
Remember that age is just a number.....that keeps getting bigger and bigger!
Thanks again,
Martin at Gaming Honors
Project Update: Surveys are Sent! Only TWO Dedications to Go!
Thanks for a terrific response rate to the survey! More than 60% of you have completed the survey. That's amazing! Keep 'em coming!
And we only need TWO more Dedications! Because these dedications will be printed in the first run of the Monster Manual, we need them before the volume goes to the printer.
Don't forget that the survey is also a great chance to add extra copies of the Mid-Life Monster Manual for gifts--or warnings--for other gamers! Because you have all done so well responding, we are still aiming to get these to you by the end of July.
If you're a Dungeon Crawl Classics or 5E fan, don't miss the incredible campaign going on for Caverns of Thracia. It's a fantastic classic adventure and setting, and these OSR books are treasures for those of us who are more "experienced" gamers. Check it out!
That's it for now. If I'm forgetting anything, I blame the Recollect Devourer!
Thanks, everyone!

Project Update: Survey Smoke Test Sent! Waiting on Dedications!
We have sent the Backerkit "Smoke-Test" Survey! Please check your emails: if you received a "smoke-test," please complete it for us!
$35 BACKERS: We need your surveys! Backerkit does not allow us to reach out to you separately. Please email [email protected] with your Dedications! (70 Print characters--not including spaces). We are just waiting for the Dedications, and then we're off to the PRINTER!
Thank you for backing our project and helping us get this new parody over the finish line!

Project Update: New Art and...Send Us Your Dedications ASAP!
We have been working hard to get the layout of the manual squared away, and we are almost ready to go! Here's a look at the full-page illustration YOU made possible. Artist Colin Richards really brought the encroaching dangers of beasts like the Draggin, Dorc, and the Gassy Gnoll to life!
We are waiting for Backerkit to approve our survey, and then we'll be sending to you!
IN THE MEANTIME, if you backed at the $35 Dedication level, PLEASE respond to Andrea's email as soon as possible! (Or just send your Dedication to [email protected])! We need to format your dedications before we can send the manual to the printer.
Thanks for your help, and for supporting the project!

Project Update: A Grognard's Gratitude and Next Steps
THANK YOU for your amazing support of our latest parody, The Mid-Life Monster Manual! It's been a blast hearing about your early experiences with monster manuals, and we are grateful to all of you for helping make this book a reality. With your help, our talented artists are bringing everything from Dorcs to Mind-Sayers to Lame-Yas to life!
So what happens next?
We set an ambitious goal for the fulfillment of this project: in the mail before Gen Con! We are waiting for a bit more art--including the full-page illustration YOU unlocked--but the writing is done, and the layout has begun. (The poetry just comes to me...)
But here is where YOU can help. Andrea is working hard to get the survey ready to send to you as soon as Backerkit approves. Please fill it out as soon as you can once you receive it. This is particularly important for those of you including a dedication. We need to review, approve, and then add the dedications to the module before we send it to the printer.
If you've read our blog at www.gaminghonors.com, you know that these parodies are part of how I use RPGs to make sense of the world. Thank you for helping me tackle these mid-life monsters!
With Gratitude,
Martin at Gaming Honors

Project Update: Approaching the Final Hours, and Full-Page Illustration Achieved!
We have less than 48 hours to go before we wrap up the campaign for the MID-LIFE MONSTER MANUAL. Thanks to your support, the manual will now include a full-page illustration featuring a party of adventurers confronting a terrifying assortment of mid-life monsters!
And remember, every backer will also receive a PDF of Matt Morrow's cover art! And It's even cooler than you suspected! If you are familiar with the 1E book that serves as our parody's inspiration, then you know the original cover image reaches the front AND back. Well, so will ours! Here's a sneak peek at Matt's nearly finished work:
As you can see, the back features such horrors as the Hip o' Grief, the Rusty Monster, the Purple Ear-Worm, and more! Of course, all of these creatures are fully described inside.
Finally, please remember this campaign is your only opportunity to include a Dedication to your favorite gamer or gaming group. These Dedications will be printed in "Appendix D" in our first printing. See the Dedication pledge level for more information.
We're almost there! Please continue to share the campaign, and we'll see you at the finish line!
Many thanks,
Martin at Gaming Honors

I'm liking how many of the upcoming monsters are looking. :) That said, it seems to me that in a couple of instances, the names are quite USA-centric. (The AARPiercer and 401Kave Troll are two in particular I've seen.) If I may, might I suggest that some of these monsters could be renamed so their humour has a bit broader applicability? Yes, you lose the pun, but then the pun might go over the head of many non-Americans anyway. For example, the AARPiercer seems to be more about the spam offers than the association itself, per se. Nor is it that related to the Piercer, given the "wearing down" mechanic. It seems more like other types of lurkers like the Gelatinous Cube. So, I don't know, "Gelatinous Coupon"? "SpamMimic"? Similarly, a 401K is just more generally a pension fund. I don't know the flavour behind the creature, but perhaps the name could be reworked in that direction.
Project Update: Four Days to Go, and Meet Some Monsters on our Live-Stream!
With four days to go, we are oh so close to adding a full-page illustration featuring an unwary party being set upon by some of the terrifying creatures in the MID-LIFE MONSTER MANUAL! Thank you all for your support and your encouragement!
And please join us for our livestream show HONOR AMONG THIEVES this Sunday, June 16th, at 5:30 p.m. Central, where we'll be talking all things monsters and RPGs. We'll also share some more illustrations and creature descriptions, and we'll play games like "So You Think You're a Peasant?" featuring the Dungeon Crawl Classics Occupations table. You can find us exclusively on the Goodman Games Official Twitch channel! https://m.twitch.tv/goodmangamesofficial
Finally, please help us spread the word about our campaign so that we can finish strong, and thanks again!

Project Update: Vote now for a sneak peak at more terrifying Mid-Life Monsters!
Our campaign is moving right along, and I thought you might enjoy a sneak peak of one of the horrifying creatures cataloged in the MID-LIFE MONSTER MANUAL!
Vote in the poll for which monster you'd like stats for. Is it the deceptive AARPiercer:
the ever-shrinking, ever-looming 401Kave Troll:
or the vaguely familiar W(e)ight?
Oh, and please help spread the word about our campaign: share on social media and tag your friends. Once they have this valuable reference guide in hand, they'll be glad you did!
Thanks for voting, and thanks for backing our project!

Project Update: You Asked for It! Meet the AARPiercer!
The poll results are in! In a tight race, the terrifying AARPiercer edged out the diabolical W(e)ight in the race to determine which Mid-Life Monster backers want to see. But don't worry, you will learn all about these and other terrible creatures in the pages of the Mid-Life Monster Manual, or by looking in the mirror, or just watching as the years go by!
And now, without further ado, meet the AARPiercer!
A master of subterfuge and surprise, the AARPiercer attacks from out of nowhere. Seamlessly blending in with other pieces of mail, the creature lunges at PCs far, far sooner than they expect, with offers of discount cards and magazine subscriptions. The Piercer's first attack is the worst, delivering significant psychic damage to the PC, who up to this point has failed to acknowledge not only that they are no longer “thirty-somethings,” but that the world now sees them as more fit for cruises and discount meals than staying out late clubbing. (Is that what the young folks do these days?)
Thanks for supporting the Mid-Life Monster Manual! We've got just over a week to go in the campaign, so please help us spread the word!

Hi, i just backed and would like to get additional copies for my old gaming group. Will there be an opportunity to add onto the pledge here for multiple copies in one shipment or should I make additional pledges? Thanks!
