BackerKit FAQ
How does BackerKit crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding is a collaborative way to bring ideas and projects to life. Project creators post their idea for a project, and backers pledge money to make the project possible. Backers get behind the scenes access and backer-only rewards, which can include exclusive products, special pricing, creative input, content, and more.
To become a backer, select a pledge level that features the reward(s) you would like to receive when the project is successfully completed and make your contribution.
All-or-nothing crowdfunding model: The creator sets a funding goal and a deadline to raise funds. If the project does not meet the goal by the deadline, backers credit cards are not charged and no money changes hands.
Crowdfunding projects can happen at various stages of the creative process. Make sure to check the estimated timeline of when rewards will be delivered. Project creators will keep you updated on the progress toward completion and delivery of your rewards.
Backing a crowdfunding campaign is not the same as purchasing an item from a store. When you back a campaign you are supporting the creation of something new. Rewards are almost always delivered, but are not guaranteed.
When will I be charged for my pledge?
Your payment method will not be charged right away. You will be charged for the amount of your pledge when the campaign ends and the project reaches its funding goal. You will not be charged if the campaign does not reach its funding goal.
What happens after the campaign is over?
The Creator will send out a survey that will ask you for more information about your pledge, your shipping information, additional items you may want to add to your pledge, and collect shipping fees if applicable.
The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge.
Any additional payment will be charged when you complete your survey and confirm your order.
Project FAQ
How are your pins graded?
Enamel pins, as unique and intricate pieces of wearable art, can sometimes exhibit minor imperfections. that are are a standard part of the production process and are inherent to the nature of creating enamel pins. We strive for the highest quality in my products and all pins will be individually graded to ensure you receive a Grade A quality pin with minimal imperfections that do not compromise the overall aesthetic or functionality of the pin, including: Pin Placement Variations: Due to the nature of the manufacturing process, there might be slight variations in the placement of the pin posts or backings. This can result in minimal misalignment or unevenness between individual pins. Enamel Fill: While my manufacturer takes great care to ensure consistent and smooth enamel application, there may be slight variations in the enamel fill, resulting in small inconsistencies in color or texture. This adds to the uniqueness and charm of each pin. Metal Plating: The plating process involves electroplating metal onto the pin's base. Occasionally, tiny specks, slight color variations, or minor scratches might be present on the metal surface. Minor Scratches or Dents: During the production, handling, and packaging stages, some pins may acquire minor surface scratches or dents. These can be barely noticeable or may require close inspection to identify. Please note that while these minor imperfections can occur, they do not detract from the overall beauty and appeal of your enamel pins. I am committed to creating a high-quality product that you'll be proud to wear and display, and I won't deliver any pins that I wouldn't be proud to have as part of my own collection.
Will there be variations in color & size?
It is crucial to understand that while we have made pins before, the pins in this campaign have not yet been manufactured. The designs you see on this page are mockups, which means the final product may vary in color and size. From our experience, the majority of our pins turn out looking like the mockup design. Different computers, phones, and other devices have different screen settings which means coloration may vary between screens. We use a Pantone formula guide book to choose the colors for our designs. The manufacturers use those Pantone numbers to know which colors to mix and apply where, however, looking at a Pantone swatch on paper, is different than looking at a Pantone color in enamel. Each mockup has a rough estimate of what the size will be. Our sizes are either specifying the general height or width of the pin. The actual size of the physical product may vary. Glow-in-the-dark and metal plating colors may vary on the physical product.
What if I want to order a quantity that isn't listed?
All of the unlocked pins will be available as add-ons available through your backer survey after the campaign ends. The prices will be the same as the current reward tiers. (Note: Early bird deals are not offered after the early bird window ends or extended to additional items.)
What is your manufacturing process?
I'll be working with trusted partners and manufacturers, but occasionally things happen and there are minor delays in manufacturing. I will always be upfront with backers along the way. We will disclose any setbacks, delays, and any other pertinent updates. It's important to understand that this is a crowdfunded campaign. Crowdfunded campaigns are often subject to delays due to unforeseen circumstances. Please also understand that money pledged to a crowdfunded campaign is a donation or investment. This is not an online store and you will not immediately receive your rewards after pledging. Please note that minor changes may occur in production, and that the images presented here are mockup designs. There is a possibility of slight changes in color and size in the physical item.

Once your order is locked down, we have a no refunds or exchanges policy. The only time we will issue a refund or replacement is in extenuating circumstances or if your pin arrives damaged (please read the FAQ section on pin grades to determine if your pin is damaged). If you believe your pin was damaged in transit, please reach out to us and attach photos of the damaged pin.
Under what conditions are my rewards forfeit?
Once project shipping is completed backers will be notified via a campaign update. This campaign update with have a final survey completion date. If your survey is not completed, and your shipping costs not paid by the completion date, you will forfeit your pledge payment and rewards. We will not fulfill forfeited rewards and pledge levels after the completion date.
Do you recommend locking backs?
Each pin from our campaign will come with rubber backs, but we highly recommend purchasing locking backs. We will not replace pins lost if the back falls off.
What happens if my pins are lost or my package never arrives?
I will make every attempt to get your package from my studio to your home! All packages for this campaign will come with a tracking number, but regardless, sometimes packages are lost in the mail. Packages that are lost by the post office will be replaced, but once your package has been marked "delivered", we cannot be responsible for stolen packages, so please make sure you are delivering to a secure location. Backers will receive updates throughout the fulfillment process and when packages ship. If your package never arrives, or if you receive your order but are missing items or have damaged or defective items, please contact me directly at [email protected] for a replacement.
